Please be aware that the last day of term for students this module is Thursday 13th February. The academy is closed from Friday 14th February to Sunday 24th February with the exception of bespoke revision for Year 11 and Post 16 students. Departments have contacted students/parent/carers if involved in these sessions.
The first day of module 4 is Monday 24th February where students will follow their usual timetable starting at 8:40am.
As part of our quality assurance processes, we were visited by ‘Challenge Partners’ an organisation that work with schools to review key areas. We were delighted with the positive feedback we received. I have added some quotes from their final reports to share with you that illustrate this:
‘staff encourage students to listen to each other and to contribute their own ideas. This is effective in helping students develop communication skills. All staff use praise and encouragement well to ensure that students remain focused on their work and engage well with their learning.’
‘Leaders have established a truly inclusive academy. Students from different starting points and backgrounds are encouraged to achieve well and maximise their own potential. The academy’s curriculum provides students with motivating learning experiences. There is a range of interesting projects and courses to inspire students to learn across all key stages.’
‘Students are very positive about the academy. They believe that: “the Middle Year Programme (MYP) character traits helps them to be ready for the real world, and that the academy cares a lot about students and what they want to achieve in life, not only about their results.”’
Feedback such as this is always good to receive, and we look forward to continuing to work in partnership with you to deliver the best outcomes for our students.
Thank you for your continued support
