Action Day

Our Action Day on Tuesday 15th March was as jam-packed as ever with a wide range of topics covered by the students.  Our students explored issues including migration, puberty, personal well-being, body image, feminism, transgender, the importance of languages, British Space Week, Britishness and Art as well as exploring moral dilemmas through drama.   Our Year 10 students also explored the argument for and against Britain leaving/remaining in the European Union.  It was fascinating to hear the students weighing up the arguments for each side and expressing their opinions.

We are also indebted to some outside organisations and businesses who came in to deliver sessions and workshops to our students.  Adecco, a recruitment agency came in to deliver CV workshops to our Year 8 students.  These were very well-received and enabled them to consider how they can start to prepare for the future, as well as considering the qualities that employers look for.  IMAGO, a Kent-based charity delivered workshops exploring how fear of failure can often impact student achieve, and how students can develop strategies to support them as they progress in their education.  Our Year 9 girls had a fantastic day as The Body Shop came in and delivered some advice and information around well-being.  The Year 9 boys fundraised for Sports Relief and we look forward to seeing how much they managed to raise.

It was another great day, and we are already looking forward to the next one in May.
