Esports Announcement

Please Note: All Esports clubs start 25th September 2023

Pupils should attend the game night of their choice with an account already created for the title they have chosen. In some cases, parental permission is required to create an account on the Epic Games/Blizzard hosting server. To aid gameplay and time spent in the room having this account prior to arriving is a necessity.

Alongside this, all pupils attending will be asked to take a contract of use form home for you to sign. This allows you to see the safety elements and protocols in place for your son/daughter when using the game space on-site.

If your son/daughter is deemed good enough to represent the academy in a game title following trials and wishes to do so they will be asked to play fixtures on-site on a Wednesday afternoon from 2 – 5 p.m.

Lastly please see attached an information drop in regards to a new after-school hours (5-8 p.m.) professional Esports coaching opportunity. This is being run in association with Lionscreed Esports team and offers an incredible opportunity to take a gamers gaming level to a pro standard. The coaching sessions will be run in a variety of game titles, with the highest interest starting first. Each of the sessions will introduce gamers to physical, mental, skill-based and tactical awareness for each of the game titles. There will be competitions and prizes for all sign-ups. The first class will be a Free trial at Wilmington Academy in the coming weeks!

There will be a cost associated with this and will run over a period of weeks. You will be directly contacted via your email address in regards to these, and the games that will be offered first in the series of sessions we hope to offer. If you are interested in finding out more please complete the attached form Esports Academy.
