End of Term Arrangements and Parent Questionnaire

Post-16 students conversing

Dear Parents/Carers,

Thank you for your support during Module 1, it has been a pleasure to welcome the students back to the academy with fewer operational restrictions. The students have responded magnificently.

In terms of communication, I would like to remind parents of some of the key information that can be accessed via our academy website to help you and your child navigate their educational journey.

You can access information on the curriculum that your child studies, covering curriculum intent, implementation and impact via the Curriculum & Assessment section of our website. This is supplemented by an outline of how each programme of study in each key stage is assessed so that you support and encourage your child as the progress through each programme of study.

Safeguarding, student-well and behaviour are central to the ethos at the academy and you can find our policies on Safeguarding Child Protection, Anti-bullying, Behaviour, Relationships and Sex Education, as well as a number of our other policies on our website under Policies.

In addition, you can find a specific link to information on our Well-being Service.
We shortly hope to announce that our application for the National Well-being Award has been successful, as formal recognition for the support provided to students. In addition, support for students can be accessed and any concerns raised through our small-scale pastoral structure, which enables students to benefit from a high level of pastoral support. Further information can be found in the ‘Our Colleges’ section of the website which can be found via the ‘Home’ and ‘About us’ pages. You can also find further information on our highly-effective SEND provision in our SEND Information Report.

To ensure that you are able to monitor your child’s attendance and other key data e.g. attendance and reports, you can access My Child at School. Should you have any issues in accessing this system, please contact your child’s college office so that we can resolve this issue.

We would very much like to gain feedback from you on your experiences as a parent of a child at Wilmington Academy so that we can celebrate what we do well, as well as identify areas where we can improve further. Therefore, we would be most grateful if you would complete a parental survey. It only takes a few minutes and your time would be much appreciated.

Finally, as we move towards the end of a very successful module, I would like to remind parents/carers that the last day of Module 1 is Friday 22 October and students will return for Module 2 commencing on Monday 8 November.

If you have any queries or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us via admin@wilmingtonacademy.org.uk

Wishing you a relaxing and enjoyable break.

Yours faithfully,

Mr P Devlin
First Deputy
