End of Term Arrangements – Easter Holidays

Wilmington Academy logo

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please be aware that the end of Module 4 is Thursday 1 April.  All students need to continue to wear full uniform and will be dismissed at the usual time of 3.00pm. Lunch and Tutor Time will run as normal on this day.

Easter Support Programmes

During the break we will be offering 3 bespoke support programmes:

  • 1. Year 11 exam support: invitation only
  • 2. Year 10 exam and wellbeing support: invitation and sign up (to follow)
  • 3. Year 7-9 – year group wellbeing and ‘fun’ days: invitation and sign up (to follow)

Contact Tracing over Easter Break

The DfE has confirmed that schools should continue with contact tracing over Easter, similar to the arrangements over Christmas. We have a well practiced system and any positive test results should be logged on the spreadsheet as before.

Parents and carers only need to inform the school of a positive case where students have developed symptoms within 48 hours of being at school. Academies are asked to assist in identifying close contacts and advising self-isolation, as the individual may have been infectious whilst in their education setting.

Where pupils or staff test positive for Covid-19 during the holidays, having developed symptoms more than 48 hours since being in school, no action is required. Staff, pupils, parents and carers should follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace.

May we take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and wish you, your families and friends a peaceful Easter.  We look forward to welcoming students back at the start of Module 5 on Monday 19 April.  Lessons start promptly at 8.40am.

Yours faithfully,

Mr M Gore
