Heatwave/Uniform/Sports Days
As you are aware, the South East of England is currently affected by heatwave conditions. In line with DFE guidelines, we have decided to postpone the sports days for Monday and Tuesday this week. These have been rescheduled for Wednesday 2 July (for year 7 and 8) and Friday 4 July (for year 9 and 10).
In addition to this, all students are permitted to wear their academy PE kit (shorts/college PE polo shirt and trainers) to school on Monday and Tuesday because of the extreme temperatures. Students who do not wish to wear their academy PE kit, should wear their school skirt/trousers and school shirt, there is no need for students to wear their tie.
Post 16 students do not need to wear a blazer or a tie.
Please would you ensure that your child has either a refillable water bottle, or several bottles of water with them, so that they can keep themselves hydrated throughout the day. Students should also consider wearing a sun hat and applying sun cream, if they are going outside at break or lunch time.
We will update you again on Tuesday afternoon with regards to arrangements for the remainder of the week, once the weather forecast has been updated.
