Leigh Academy Wilmington
We are writing to you today with some exciting news regarding the evolution of our academy. As you know, we are constantly striving to provide the best possible educational environment for our students, and part of that commitment involves ensuring our identity reflects our values and aspirations.
Further to our earlier communication concerning this change, we are delighted to confirm that from 1 September 2025, Wilmington Academy will officially be known as Leigh Academy Wilmington.
This rebranding marks a significant and positive step forward for our entire school community. While our name is changing, our dedication to academic excellence, student well-being, and fostering a supportive learning environment remains steadfast. This change will allow us to further strengthen our ties within the Leigh Academies Trust, benefiting from enhanced collaboration and shared best practices across a wider network of successful schools.
You will soon start to see the physical transformation taking shape. We are already well underway with planning upgrades to our external displays in our entrance, and internal displays to proudly reflect the Leigh Academy Wilmington brand. These updates will create a modern, vibrant, and inspiring space for our students to learn and thrive and I have attached a copy of our new academy ethos poster to this letter.
As previously communicated, the change to uniform will start with our new year 7 cohort only. For year 8 students and above, it will only be necessary to purchase the Leigh Academy Wilmington branded blazer, PE top and jumper when you are purchasing new items (for example, when your son/daughter has outgrown their current uniform). Our new uniform items can be purchased through TFS Schoolwear, their shop is at 45 Spital St, Dartford, DA1 2DX, or through Brigade Clothing online.
We are incredibly excited about this new chapter and the positive impact it will have on our students’ educational journey. This rebranding represents our ongoing commitment to growth and providing an outstanding learning experience for all.
