National Lockdown – Student Arrangements

Wilmington Academy logo

Dear Parent/Carer,

Following the announcement from the Prime Minister, I am writing to confirm that due to the National Lockdown, students will not be returning to the academy until at least 22 February. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate any further arrangements where necessary.

Remote Learning

All students in Years 7 to 13 have remote learning at home. Students need to follow their usual timetable of lessons with work being set in the Google Classrooms with some ‘live lessons’. Please find home learning link:

Student/Parent Support

We recognise that these are challenging times and, as a result, have provided support on the home learning website in relation to parental guidance for remote learning, wellbeing and pastoral provision.

Student Engagement

Engagement will be monitored for every student and captured by their teacher. By the end of each week, every student will receive a digital engagement score of 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest). As a result, your support with this is most appreciated – please remind your child to login. Follow-up calls will be made for students that are not engaging and a report will be provided to you at the end of the module.

Key Worker/Vulnerable Provision

Provision will be available for children of key workers and vulnerable students to attend on site education from Tuesday 5 January if required. If that applies to you, then you should already have received a letter and you should reply to to ‘book’ a place for your child.

FSM Provision

At present, food packs will be provided for FSM students and arrangements have been made with parents/carers to collect them from the academy.

Thank you for your ongoing support over these challenging and ever changing times.  If you have any queries then please do not hesitate to contact the school via email.
