It is with great pleasure that we celebrate the success of our post-16 students. The academy has achieved consistently high-quality outcomes from both academic and vocational subjects over a sustained period of time. Today, our students received positive results from vocational subjects of which all stakeholders should be very proud. Prior to the summer break, IB students also achieved very well in highly academic subjects. The IB programme and the post-16 personal development offered at Wilmington Academy provides a solid foundation for our students to excel in their onward destinations. We would like to thank the staff, parents and students who have all contributed to another fabulous year.

Applied General Summary
Wilmington Academy secured another solid performance in vocational outcomes at post-16 achieving an average of a Merit + for all subjects offered. Pleasingly, a key focus of the post-16 provision was to close the outcome gap between disadvantaged students and the rest of the cohort. This area has improved outcomes from previous years where disadvantaged students have secured an average grade of a Merit + in line with the rest of the cohort. This can be attributed to the high-quality post-16 pastoral care and attention which has fostered a culture for these excellent results. There has been a number of outstanding performances from subjects including: art (average grade of Distinction*), law, health and social care, sport (average grade of Distinction), creative media and engineering (average grade of Merit +) and catering (average grade of a Merit).
eSports Outcomes
Our unique offer of eSports has again produced stunning results with 70% of all students achieving Distinction – Distinction*, 83% of all students achieving a Distinction* to Merit and 100% of students achieving a Pass or above. We are pleased that we have students that have secured placements at the College of eSports to study digital media as a result of their success in this qualification.
