School Transport

Dear Parent/Carer

I am writing to ask for your support in relation to student transport at the start and end of the school day.

Whilst the majority of our students cross local roads sensibly, there are a small number who do not and we would ask that you reinforce the importance of following appropriate road crossing protocols i.e. when crossing the road, they should be sensible, aware of the traffic and cross at the appropriate crossing point, obeying traffic and crossing signals.

Furthermore, please can you support the academy by following the correct guidelines for dropping off/picking up:

  • Parents/carers should not use the lane designated for buses and taxis only.
  • Please do not park on the academy site in a manner that prevents the smooth passage of traffic.
  • Students should not enter or leave the site via the vehicle entrance.
  • If it is possible for your child to walk to/from the academy, please encourage them to do so, as this will reduce the traffic on the academy site.

Ultimately, students must take responsibility for their own safety, hence us asking you to reiterate its importance.

I am sure you will agree that your child’s safety is paramount and I thank you in advance for your support in this matter.

Yours faithfully,

Pete Devlin | First Deputy
