Wellbeing Day

Dear Parents/Carers,

On Tuesday 20 July we will be holding our very first Wellbeing Fun Day. This is to recognise all our students’ hard work and effort given the challenging year it has been.

Students will be off timetable for the entire day and will rotate round, in their tutor groups (and year group bubble) completing a range of fun activities. These include:

Workshop 1 – Inflatables Challenge
Students will rotate round a series of large inflatables including the Human size football table, sports arena, and an obstacle course. They will also get the opportunity to do lazer tag and the climbing wall.

Workshop 2 – Crystal Maze
Students will need to work their way through the 10 challenge rooms deciding which members of their tutor group should complete the challenges that await. They will be working under pressure to beat the timer and need to rely on teamwork and a variety of different skills to win the crystals.

Workshop 3 – Sport
Students will be given the opportunity to complete different sports organised by our fantastic PE department.

Workshop 4 – Optionality Session
Students will engage in an activity of their choice. Students were sent the following Google form on Friday via their WA Learner Accounts. Please encourage your child to complete this as soon as possible if they have not already done so.

They can choose one of the following activities: Catering, Prosthetics & Special effects, Art & design, Product design, Around the world in 60 minutes (geography) or a film. I shall endeavour to honor everyone’s first choice however as there are restrictions with regards to most activities this cannot be guaranteed.

Students will need to wear their full PE kit including trainers for the entire day. They will need to report to their tutor room at the start of the day to get registered and go through the plans for the day. They will require a bottle of water and we highly recommend wearing suncream as students are outside for most of the day. Any student who is not wearing their PE kit or an appropriate substitute will not be able to take part in the day and may be sent home to change.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully,

Anthony Farr
Assistant Principal (Lead for Behaviour, Attendance and Wellbeing)
