How accessible is our website?

This website is not fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

On our website, you should be able to

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
  • All images have alt text

We know some parts of our website are not fully accessible at the moment:

  • some PDFs on this site are not accessible
  • pinch-to-zoom doesn’t work on most android mobile devices
  • some text elements don’t have sufficient contrast
  • the main navigation is not in a list format on desktop

Help with using Portable Document Files (PDFs)

We are in the process of moving away from PDFs, however, there are some areas that we are unable to change or haven’t found a suitable solution yet. In order to read these documents you’ll need to have Adobe Reader® on your computer. If you don’t have Adobe Reader, you can get it free from the Adobe website. To read PDFs with a screen reader you can link to the Access Adobe website which provides useful tools and resources.

If you are unable to read these documents please contact accessibility@latrust.org.uk

PDFs such as Newsletters are being moved over to a more mobile-friendly and accessible HTML format. This new format is fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

Documents granted exemptions

In some circumstances as part of our statutory duties, we are required by law to publish certain documents on our website. Some of these documents may not meet accessibility requirements. This is due to; the document being provided to us by a third party, the document being sent to us in a format that we are not allowed to change, or the original document has been signed, scanned in and uploaded as an image to our website.
