Christmas End of Term Arrangements
We will be dismissing students at 12:00 pm on the last day of term, Friday 15 December 2023. If this early finish causes you any difficulties, please contact the relevant College Admin Office asking for your child to remain in the Academy as normal until 3.15pm and the appropriate supervision will be arranged. Unfortunately there can be no special arrangements with the buses, which will arrive at the normal time.
We will be conducting a Christmas-themed non-school uniform fundraiser where students are permitted to wear a Christmas jumper/Christmas themed clothing, to the academy on 15 December. We ask for an optional charitable donation of £1 on the day, with the proceeds going to Restore, a local breast cancer reconstruction charity, which is based in local hospitals including Darent Valley. This charity supported a member of staff through her treatment and battle against her cancer by providing face-to-face support and a care pack of items to use during her hospital stay and recovery period.
“Restore Breast Cancer Reconstruction was set up by a group of ex-patients of the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead in 2010. Having gone through breast reconstruction ourselves we wanted to help women going through breast cancer and breast reconstruction by sharing our own reconstruction journeys and experiences.We do this by holding regular show and tell events. These are currently held at the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford and Worthing Hospital.”
There will be no lunch service, however students will be able to purchase food during Christmas Brunch should they wish to do so.
