Year 11 Mock Exam Results and Parents’ Evening

Two students talking to one another in a class

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you are aware, our Year 11 students have just completed their first set of mock examinations and we are very pleased with their approach to this exam series and the positive mindset.

Our staff will mark, moderate and quality assure these assessments before we share the results with students. To enhance the mock experience and align it with the public exams, we will be sharing the results with students and parents/carers in a ‘results day’ event. This will coincide with our Year 11 Parents’ Evening, which will take place on Wednesday 10 January 2024 between 3:00pm and 6:00pm.

This event will be face-to-face and will provide a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress in their GCSE and BTEC subjects following their mock examinations. Students will be able to collect their mock results from 2:30pm in the Lecture Theatre and you will be able to accompany your child, so that you can discuss the results during the consultation with your son’s/daughter’s class teachers.

Parents’ Evening Booking System – MyChildAtSchool (MCAS)

Appointments to see your son’s/daughter’s class teachers can be booked using the MCAS system. MCAS allows you to choose your own appointment time with the teacher. Appointment slots are 5 minutes to enable staff to speak to as many parents as possible. We require parents and staff to limit discussions to the allocated time to ensure that other parents’ appointments are not compromised. Due to some staff teaching multiple classes in this year group, it will not be possible to meet every teacher.

To book an appointment, please log into your MCAS account and select Parents’ Evening. Appointments can be made from Tuesday 02 January at 12:00pm until Tuesday 09 January at 5:00pm. Should you wish to make any changes after this date or are unable to book appointments, please contact your child’s College Admin Team.

Please find guidance below on how to book your appointment using MCAS here.

T-Level Courses Drop-In Session

The T-Levels are a new type of course which have been developed in collaboration with employers, providing a balance of classroom learning and real-world experience.

We will be hosting a T Level Drop-in Session during Parents’ Evening from 3:00pm-6:00pm in the Restaurant. This is a great opportunity for your son/daughter to explore the exciting courses we have to offer and also to address any queries you may have regarding the T Levels.

Year 11 Reports

Module 3 reports will be available for all parents/carers to view at the end of module three. All reports will be placed onto MyChildAtSchool (MCAS). If you have any issues in accessing this platform, please contact the admin staff of the relevant college.

Reach for the Stars

Our bespoke reward programme for Year 11 will continue into module three. At the time of writing, over 2,500 reward points have been awarded to students in module two, which is a fantastic achievement
