Welcome Back – Module 4

Dear Parents/Carers

We hope that you had a restful and enjoyable half term break. We are delighted by the way students have returned to the school in a calm and purposeful manner.  Ensuring high standards is key in providing a quality education for our students and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support when sanctions are applied in line with the Home School Agreement.

During Module 3 parents/carers and students were given the opportunity to respond to the Leigh Academies Trust survey, to which we have now received feedback from the Trust.  We are delighted with the overwhelmingly positive response and appreciate so many of you taking the time to complete the survey.  It has provided us with a valuable insight into how the academy is viewed and we can incorporate this into our future plans.

We are also delighted that we have received our evaluation report for our IB courses in P16 which highlights the excellent practice that takes place at the academy.  As part of the review, teachers and students were interviewed, lessons were observed and the curriculum offer scrutinised in detail.  Consequently, the academy has been re-accredited to deliver IB courses and the feedback received was exceptional, demonstrating the excellent outcomes and high effectiveness of our P16 programme.

Whilst we always encourage our students to work hard and try their best, it is also important to take time to recognise and celebrate achievements.  Therefore, we have identified a large number of students from Years 7-11 who have maintained 100% attendance alongside not receiving any negative behaviour points, and these students and parents have been invited to attend an ‘Unsung Heroes’ award event at the academy.  We hope that as we hold more of these events in the future, the number of students eligible will increase even further.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Yours sincerely

Mr M Gore
Principal
