Dear Parents/Carer

Christmas End of Term Arrangements – Post 16

We will be dismissing all Post 16 students on Monday 19 December at 3:00 pm. Those who have a home study pass for Period 4 and 5 on Monday will be dismissed at 12:30 as normal. All other years will be dismissed as per Mr Gore’s communication on Tuesday 20 December at 12:00 pm.

We will be conducting a Christmas Jumper fundraiser where on Friday 16 December and Monday 19 December students are permitted to wear  a Christmas-themed jumper to the academy and we ask for a charitable donation of £1 on the day with the proceeds going to We Are Beams, but we would not wish to exclude anyone from participating for financial reasons.

We Are Beams is a local charity that supports disabled children and their families in Kent and Medway.  The children and young people who access our services are aged between 4 and 19.  They will usually have one or multiple learning difficulties, complex health needs such as down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy or another life limiting disease, physical or sensory impairment, challenging behaviour as a result of their disability, autism or severe ADHD.  To continue supporting our children we need to raise £2m.  If you would like to learn more about them please visit their website –

As a reminder for Year 13 students, the school’s UCAS deadline is Friday 2 December. For those students who have not completed their application by this deadline, we will expect them to attend a UCAS clinic on Tuesday 20 December from 09:00 am -11:00 am.

May we take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and wish you, your families and friends a very happy Christmas.  School returns on Thursday 5 January 2023 at 8:40am (Please note: Students will go straight to form at the start of the day).

Yours faithfully

Miss L Evans |  Assistant Principal – Head of Post 16
