Dear Parents/Carers
Student and Parent Survey Results
As a valued partner in the work we facilitate at the academy, students and parents/carers were given the opportunity to complete satisfaction surveys in relation to the service we provide to our community. We want to thank those parents/carers and students for their views and pleased to report the positive results received. With approximately 1,400 students on roll at the academy, we are pleased to report that over 8 out of 10 parents/carers state that they would recommend Wilmington Academy to other parents/carers.
We have listed some of the highlights below that compare to last years outcomes:
Student Survey
- Students have scored the academy higher in every question than this time last year
- Students responded that the behaviour at Wilmington Academy has improved in the past year.
- Students responded that they felt safe at school and that teachers were always available to help and listen to their points of view.
- Students responded that they received a high level of emotional support.
Parent Survey
- Parents/carers responded that their child made excellent progress at school and there was a 12% increase on the previous year’s survey.
- Parents/carers responded that the teaching staff have high expectations for their child – a 10% increase on the previous year’s survey.
- Parents/carers responded that teaching staff were knowledgeable and approachable and that their child was taught well – an 11% increase on the previous year.
- Parents/carers responded that children with SEN were well supported – a 9% increase on the previous year.
Once again, thank you to the students and parents/carers who responded to the surveys – every response is taken into account. We have also considered the comments we received from you all regarding how we can further improve and of course, the many positive comments we received, which were a delight to read. Thank you to those parents/carers who put their names to comments shared: this enables us to follow up any concerns personally if we feel this is appropriate.
Yours faithfully
Mr M Gore | Principal
